The goal with these preliminary strikes is to get Iran to retaliate, and use that as justification for further escalation.
I’d argue the initial strikes was a cover to exfiltrate the scientists and understand how far along they were and get intelligence about locations of the fissile material and target it.
I just wish we could wish we just get along. There must be so so much pain for the ( basic average ) people on both sides of these conflicts.

For Israel, the strategic goal has always been to stop the endangering of Israel and their citizen by Iran.
