Some jurisdictions have very strong laws against that sort of lawsuit but that is why there is forum shopping.

The previously continuous Taxpayers -> USAID -> NGO/Foundation -> Media Matters spigot being turned off is starting to show effects.
Even if they were getting money from a GOP super PAC, any company with a budget would face hardships defending itself legally against nearly infinite budgets on the other side.
