> The quote "For my friends, everything; for my enemies, the law." (Spanish: Para mis amigos, todo; para mis enemigos, la ley) is often attributed to Benavides, although other sources also attribute it to other Latin American heads of state, such as Benito Juárez, Juan Perón, Getulio Vargas, or Juscelino Kubitschek.
I didn't flag or upvote. I'll reluctantly agree with the mods inasmuch as this topic doesn't seem to produce any productive discussion anymore. Early on, I genuinely learned quite a bit from these threads. Now it's mostly empty name calling.
To be fair, the article describes the non-violent incidents that generated international shock versus the more-quotidian horribleness that has characterized the occupation.
Don't forget they will celebrate any prison guards caught on video facilitating said dog rape as national heroes. Even rioting to make sure they are released from captivity. Truly a civilized society.
Edit: of course the post got flagged. Great job Hasbara. That was pretty quick.
It’s not really worth trying to curb this. The jig is up. Everyone knows that Israelis are for the most part bloodthirsty psychos who have been raised from day one to see all Arabs as subhuman. For the first time in history more Americans sympathize with Palestine over Israel.
Politicians who vote in favor of Israel or take their money are getting primaried at higher rates and really it’s just getting started. On the left and the right. Israel is losing all of their friends here in the states.
I felt bad for Israel on October 7th. Now I want to see them all tried for war crimes.

This is why that region is dominated by self-reinforcing extremism broken up with authoritarians. The ‘all Palestinians are monsters, wait, all Israelis are monsters, wait,…’ cycle pretty much only historically breaks with entire nations disappearing or being denied statehood, on one hand, or with an authoritarian keeping a lid on sectarian hatred, on the other hand. (Credit where it’s due: calling for trials trumps calls for extermination.)

So I think it’s pretty clear where you stand on this issue. Looks like your little skirmish has gotten out of control out there. It’s making the Trump admin and Israel look very weak and stupid.
> the army claims progress in curbing posts
This is a wild idea, but what if we curbed the behaviour?
It’s wartime. Do a few summary executions.
The law is not for your own side:
“For my friends everything, for my enemies the law.” ― Oscar R. Benavides, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Óscar_R._Benavides
Interestingly, from the article you linked:

(Spanish: Para mis amigos, todo; para mis enemigos, la ley) is often attributed to Benavides, although other sources also attribute it to other Latin American heads of state, such as Benito Juárez, Juan Perón, Getulio Vargas, or Juscelino Kubitschek.

What about
Why was this flagged? Social media, part of the tech industry, is part of state propaganda and should be discussed here.

Weird site choice disabling replies to flagged posts.
They’re just outsourcing their censorship.
Same government cut off internet to the Palestinians who were live streaming their own genocide to the outside world.
"misdeeds"
Fucking disgusting.
https://youtu.be/d4pOPNUcHNc
TIL running over people with bulldozers and sexual torture and wanton slaughter of children are “misdeeds”.
I would hate to know what they consider a war crime.
To be fair, the article describes the non-violent incidents that generated international shock versus the more-quotidian horribleness that has characterized the occupation.
Did you hear about that they teach dogs to rape prisoners though?
It's a widely-sourced report. They hold down handcuffed prisoners and let the dogs loose on them.
Don't forget they will celebrate any prison guards caught on video facilitating said dog rape as national heroes. Even rioting to make sure they are released from captivity. Truly a civilized society.
Don't forget deliberate shooting of international aid workers.
Or the fact that more journalists have been killed in Gaza since 2024 than in all conflicts on the planet since WW2 (including WW2).

Massie's primary in Kentucky today will be quite the test.
Just checked it:
"Massie race breaks spending record as pro-Israel groups target Trump critic
Pro-Israel groups and donors spend heavily in Kentucky’s Republican primary to defeat US Congressman Thomas Massie."
Never underestimate the credulity of the boomer generation.

Everybody has access to that. If you have a point, make it.
And? I believe this is something worthy of discussion, so I shared.
