There was another big incident in the Seattle area a couple years ago. Basically patients of the University of Washington system were victims of a breach at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. Even if they weren’t cancer patients and had never visited Fred Hutch. Why? Because for some unexplained reason UW was sharing everyone’s private medical information with Fred Hutch. And neither of them were willing to even tell patients what info specifically was accessed - all they would do is tell you to visit their generic breach notice.
Obviously no justice was done in those situations and I doubt anything will happen in this new one. We need new laws to create more accountability. Otherwise the public will keep becoming victims.

This is starting to become a regular thing. Hospitals and the medical industry in general seem to have very low standards for security.
