Charles Haughey introduced the Aos Dana scheme which gave government patronage to certain major artists (I know one of them). It is a double edged sword because like the Middle Ages where you had to get either church or state/noble patronage in order to be a major artist. If you annoy the government... Like UBI or digital ID, you can be potentially unfunded.
So the pennies on the dollar that Ireland gets by being the taxhole of the Eu will subsidize the arts.?
