They aren't stopping their consumption of such (although they are slowing down) but everyone and their grandma knows RAM is expensive and it going from "really expensive" to "really realy expensive" is not going to phase 99% of the population at this point.
1000 dollarydoos for a stick of RAM vs 1250 dollars isn't gonna make it any less accessible when it's already inaccessible.
I also find it highly suspect that every time china announces it has made major strides in producing good-enough memory that suddenly every western news site/station/app is all "omg ram will never get cheaper".
People say things like "remember when trump was saying canada was flooding the US with fentanyl wait what do you mean that was only few months ago"
