That's exactly why I don't do that in other cases. I received an email apology, so it appears I guessed correctly this time that they simply didn't know they were doing wrong. (I try my best to extend the benefit of the doubt to fellow HN'ers even if they're doing questionable AI stuff.)

I'm surprised you didn't just mark-as-spam and block; now they know your email address is valid.
