Pretty damning remarks from the California AG about Meta: the company knew their products were harmful, they ignored the harms, and they intentionally misled and lied to the public.
It is damning - if true, and if provable in court.
It's a comment to the press after the first day of trial. A comment from a political figure, even. It has to do with optics, nothing more. Both sides try to paint themselves as right to the press and the public. It's about managing public perception, but it has zero to do with what actually happens in the trial.
Take a look at the evidence already presented and read the complaint sheets that are publicly available (4:23-cv-05448-YGR - People of the State of California v. Meta Platforms, Inc. et al).
The state AGs have a very strong body of evidence. If I were betting person, I would expect that Meta loses this case from the arguments I've seen presented. The reason why they're in court in the first place is because the AGs have provable claims.

I learned a long time ago (SCO v IBM) that one side sounds convincing, if you just read that side's filings, statements, and arguments. Did Meta give their opening statement yet? If so, how was it compared to the AG's statements?
Are you going to all the days, or just today? If all the days, would you consider doing a Tell HN each day after they wrap up, with an eyewitness summary?
