I hand wrote an app for c++ codebases that parsed files for their #includes and determined the full extent of how a change in one or more files would propagate through other files. I then hooked it up to my git branches to show me the impact of merging that branch ahead of the actual merge.
It's remarkable how wide changes propagate if you accept that changing a single .cpp will potentially impact every file that includes its header.
