We Oric-1/Atmos users have been enjoying the heck out of wiring up an RP2040 to our systems .. it makes an excellent peripheral controller .. adds USB mice, keyboard, mice, etc. to 40 year old systems.
Just wanna say, adding the RP2040 to 8-bit systems increases the fun, yo ..
I'm pretty sure Neo6502 is going to get LOCI emulation mode for booting with the Oric Atmos ROM sooner or later .. that is going to be very interesting, from the perspective of next-generation Oric development ..
Indeed, that is exactly what it has become for the Oric-1/Atmos, in the LOCI project .. which gives the Oric access to USB peripherals, including storage, and getting such things under control are the first step in making retro- computers useful again ..

If they're USB, they should! At least the Apple/Oric software supports USB flash storage, and the USB floppies are the same protocol.
The problem is Apple II 3.5" disks are in GCR so you would need a custom controller (IMO certainly doable with an RP2040 let alone RP2350) that is not bound to just PC formats.

6502 is fun but coupling it to a RP2040 takes most of that fun away again, imho. Why not have the RP2040 emulate the 6502 too?

I think it works if you treat it as a black box - the RP2040 and 2350 are synchronous and can basically play the role of an FPGA here.
Although I could see a version of this with two RP2350's.

Hopefully somebody decides to distribute it in the states. The 1kEU minimum buy makes it not interesting for hobby kit.

The original neo6502 is available from Mouser and Digikey, so I don't see why they won't get this.
According to https://neo6502.com/ the SOC has a 6.25 Mhz CPU and 64k of RAM. What's the utility of this in the modern world?
