I for one do not think it is an improvement to have a government run ai between me and the information, just make the information accessible to whatever agent people want to use. The government is not trustworthy

I read from local (European) news that people in the US could now get, e.g., passports online, so that was my reasoning about improvements.
That doesn't pass the smell test for me
1. Passports are handled differently by state (eg. NY is post office, WA has a special office)
2. You have to go in person to verify identity, renewals can happen online, but that's not new
