It's flagged because lots of "trusted" users flagged it.
Why did they do that? Some might have an aversion to politics in general. That has long been a strong strain here, with people seeing it as diluting the tech focus.
But for a lot, it's clearly more sinister. There has been a lot of partiality in tech recently to plainly fascist and other ultra-right-wing ideas, especially among the executives and capital. They like it, and want it to win, everywhere, and will reflexively do what they can to help it, including burying bad coverage.
And just like in the USA, that does not make it absolute. The exact interpretation and limitations are different, but saying saying that Germany does not have freedom of speech is disrespectful and incorrect.
> Rendering them as individual pages would mean publishing an indexed, searchable copy of every private message in the corpus — including the many that concern ordinary members and people who wrote to the party, not public figures.
Besides the practical hassle of downloading 300gb and wasting time .
It's their report, their claims, their argument. The burden to make the case and be transparent is theirs, not mine. It's dishonest to present AI summaries as facts.
There should be at least a sample of the source text so we can see how well the descriptions match the sources.
Also, where is the prompt, the model? The methods used to present the content.
It's funny how much critique of "AI slop" is on HN, and here's a case where even mild hallucination is very misleading, yet the bar is incredibly low.
The way I see it, either you are curious enough to download some of the files or you are not. I don't understand this middle ground where you spend more time complaining about the distribution method than it would take to download. It feels contrived or even in bad faith, especially given that the link above would allow you to do exactly that without starting a torrent client.
So what's your argument? accept it at face value? It's an incomplete report. I'm not complaining. I'm pointing out the gaps to people who may not take the time to explore what is on the site.
If you don’t believe it go and download the documents and grep through them. You act like 300gb is large. It’s not. The next FPS will probably be that big.
Afd are just the Nazi party all over again. To quote the Wikipedia entry "In 2017, ten AfD Bundestag members were found to have participated in a closed Facebook group named "the Patriots" in which, among other things, antisemitic, racist, pro-Nazi and conspiratorial posts were widespread."
Imagine going back in time to tell Hitler that, in 80 years, the German far-right would be led by a publicly pro-Jewish lesbian. Hell… maybe someone did, and that’s why he shot himself.
The pact included industrial cooperation and dividing up foreign conquests. To simply quote Wikipedia:
"In August of that year [1939], the countries expanded their economic relationship by entering into a Trade and Credit agreement whereby the Soviet Union sent critical raw materials to Germany in exchange for weapons, military technology and civilian machinery. That deal accompanied the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact, which contained secret protocols dividing central Europe between them, after which both Nazi forces and Soviet forces invaded territories listed within their 'spheres of influence'."
There is no 'jargon' to compare left and right leaning parties from 80 years ago, to today's versions. To exercise ANY comparison within that context in a serious tone, is to build the most flammable straw man that even laughing at it would set the argument to ashes.
eta: I realize arguing with bots and paid farms is to do a disservice to everyone, but it's just painful to see these bad faith arguments presented as 8th grade reading level trick-questions. That said, fucking vote. It's your democratic responsibility in society that is based on social governance.
No, Hitler himself said that the cooptation of "socialism" was on purpose[0], don't get fooled by simple naming, it's the easiest way one can be manipulated (e.g.: "Democratic People's Republic of Korea"):
> "Why," I asked Hitler, "do you call yourself a National Socialist, since your party programme is the very antithesis of that commonly accredited to socialism?"
> "Socialism," he retorted, putting down his cup of tea, pugnaciously, "is the science of dealing with the common weal. Communism is not Socialism. Marxism is not Socialism. The Marxians have stolen the term and confused its meaning. I shall take Socialism away from the Socialists.
> "Socialism is an ancient Aryan, Germanic institution. Our German ancestors held certain lands in common. They cultivated the idea of the common weal. Marxism has no right to disguise itself as socialism. Socialism, unlike Marxism, does not repudiate private property. Unlike Marxism, it involves no negation of personality, and unlike Marxism, it is patriotic.
> "We might have called ourselves the Liberal Party. We chose to call ourselves the National Socialists. We are not internationalists. Our socialism is national. We demand the fulfilment of the just claims of the productive classes by the state on the basis of race solidarity. To us state and race are one."
yeah...that's my point, these namings are pretty devoid of _consistent_ meaning, both with respect to what they reference (as in your democratic people's republic of korea example) as well as across time.
This is an editorial cartoon from 1931 showing how Hitler emphasized contradictory parts of the party-name to different suckers. (English translation in page.)
Yes! that's what i'm getting at: the use of these names is presented as meaningful but they're too mired in misdirection and propaganda to be context-free meaningful, both in an era, and across time.

The socialism part was fake. The named it so because socialism was popular and the promises are hard to distinguish from some right wing parties. In the past jews were the main enemy, now its muslims.
National Socialist was a lie at the time. The meaning of socialism has not changed. Labels are assertions, not prescriptions. The inconsistency is truth, not ideology.
Cloudflare has put up a notice saying that the site is suspected of phishing, but doesn't block access to it. The site has been reported as some kind of phishing site, someone clearly doesn't it.
The issue of sites like this is their one-sided nature. If they are going to be fair then they should dump the archives of all the other parties, then AfD supporters will not be able to claim that they are being set upon.
Acts like these have the ability to create sympathy and dislike in equal measure for their targets.
Wondering why this was flagged--seems of public interest. Is it not authentic? (@dang)

Are they forbidden from titling this German AfD document leak or something? Why non-specific mentions of what this is on the About page etc?
My guess would be libel / defamation laws in Germany , since they don't have free speech protections like the USA
You seem to imply that libel & defamation laws don't exist in the US, but they obviously do. So could you explain what difference you're pointing out?
The difference is we have freedom of speech, Germany doesn't. Defamation is a bigger risk in Germany
Freedom of speech is guaranteed by Article 5 of the constitution of Germany: https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_gg/englisch_gg.h...
And just like in the USA, that does not make it absolute. The exact interpretation and limitations are different, but saying saying that Germany does not have freedom of speech is disrespectful and incorrect.
Would you say that Defamation risk in germany is bigger, smaller or the same?
Here they are sorted by "most damning": https://hexane.cc/table/?board=mail
AI summary:

why redact?
from their site

which is suspicious
If you're so curious, why not have a look? The files are pretty obviously available, any online magnet link viewer will show them to you https://webtor.io/db503db679f508aa31a9e07913b2aa8cf7aa6dff?p...

There is a second magnet which features all the 100k file as individual files. The packed archive is only for more efficient torrents
that's even worse
If you are bothered by not knowing, why aren't you downloading it and looking?
I may, I may not.
Look dude, maybe this is your project , so you're defensive.
I saw the tag line, visited and thought "ooh some spicy emails that'll be interesting. ".
Then i found a bunch of AI slop, with no grounding.
That's all it is.

Interesting.
Website screams AI slop though.
The website seems perfectly clear and functional.

That’s old news [1].

I think that "let's not attach each other" and "supporting" aren't the same thing.

They’re not. But the Nazis hating minorities within their own borders doesn’t delineate them.
Should probably add that her grandfather was a member of the SS
Not quite the same, but I believe something like this happens in "Look Who's Back"
This is a good example of why the right wing is such a joke in Europe. Look at what they call “far right”.

I think ethnic cleansing for a national renewal is pretty far right, no? The next stop is gas chambers, I believe.

the namings are just messy.
Yes, they are proper nazi.
Hitler was a National Socialist (Nazi).
If that phrase were evaluated in the US in 2026, would that be "far left"?
I ask because it seems these phrases and coordinate systems are just an inconsistent clickbait mess.
Political ideologies are not scientific theories, they are just words layered on top of mental confusion. It seems vain to try to make sense of it.
Don't judge people by what they say but by what they do, goes the saying. Pay even less attention to what they call themselves.

Are you saying that outing racists is one-sided and will create sympathy for them?
You're arguing against a group of people who have the galls to falsely report a site for phishing and then use that to delegitimize what it says.
