So, I’ve always been told that you should have a customized version of your résumé for every job you apply for, with a customized version of your cover letter.
Seems to me like this type of tool is just making the job spam problem that much worse. And in particular, that much worse for everyone else who has to deal with this dreckage and bletchery.
Customized applications are the target. atsfill hides the differences between hiring systems so you can focus on that.
The tool is not opinionated about spam (aka how many applications you send), I leave that decision to the user and how they tune their harnesses/workflows.
Working in HR-tech-land, I'm torn because (A) some of these systems have terrible interfaces and (B) hiring companies are just going to be even more overwhelmed with volume.
Workday's create-an-account-per-employer and the "upload-your-résumé-and-autofill" that just fills the sections wrong are pure pain.
I agree volume is going to increase, I just hope application processes get more conversational and practical and move away from asking applicants to fill out a multi-page form just to be rejected by a no-reply email.

I'm working on a harness that tailors the résumé, lets the user read and tweak it, then submits, with a daily cap for submissions (still very early though): https://github.com/shbernal/hermes-linkedin-jobsearch
