“nearly vanish” = 90% reduction. 10% is still a lot
Interesting, but early.
The way I read it is the genetic treatment improved the effectiveness of the drug, so it's great but not a cure.
The real breakthrough isn't just seizure reduction. It's demonstrating the feasibility of installing a new, externally controllable interface into human neural circuits.

I have managed epilepsy so it’s good to see progress on treatments even if they aren’t directly applicable
